Murano is a small Island in the lagoon of Venice, Italy. It’s famous, since the 13th century, for the production of hand made blown glass. Murano became soon Europe's elite glassmaking center, peaking in popularity in the 15th and 16th centuries. Today Murano is known all over the world for its artistic glass production, both traditional and contemporary.
